Remapping mouse axises to gamepad analog control - Splitscreen w/2 mice in L4D

Does anyone know of a program that could remap the mouse movement of ONLY ONE mouse to that of a 360 controller's right analog stick? (moving mouse1 would be interpreted as moving the right analog stick of the 360 controller. Moving mouse2 would be interpreted as normal mouse movement. Sort of like Xpadder, but in reverse.)If possible, with a slightly revamped cfg file, Left 4 Dead could be played splitscreen with 2 mice and 2 keyboards online on a single computer.Remapping mouse axises to gamepad analog control - Splitscreen w/2 mice in L4D
Something like this, but I do not know to make two seperate mice and keyboards.Remapping mouse axises to gamepad analog control - Splitscreen w/2 mice in L4D
Thanks - that is the file we use to bind the keys.....We are going to need one of these two programs to seperate mouse input:TeamPlayer (Full version costs $20)http://www.wunderworks.com/download-teamplayer/^works in the windows environment - allows you to have an unlimited # of cursors in windows.Microsoft Multipoint (Free - you can download a plugin/demo at the first link, dev kit at the second).http://www.mymousegames.com/Instructions.aspx^multipoint demo softwarehttp://www.microsoft.com/unlimitedpotential/programs/multipoint.mspx^multipoint SDKThe easiest way to do this would be to develop a program from scratch using microsoft multipoint that will run in the normal windows environment. From there, set the controls of player 2 in the left for dead cfg to match the name of the 2nd mouse. I don't know what that name is, and I can't check without downloading the dev kit for multipoint - it requires VS.Net, which I don't have.)So for right now, as far as I know, this is a dead end unless someone else programs the multipoint workaround. Is anyone willing? Does anyone know another way to get 2 mice/cursors working in the windows environment?EDIT:Found another possibility - CPNMouse. It's a hassle to install, but I have two mice working in the windows environment now without having to pay anything. I still don't know what the names of the individual mice are yet, but if we can find that then we could simply change the buttons in left for dead and have splitscreen working with two mice on one keyboard. Here's the links for CPN mouse and some directions on how to get it working:http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/index.html^Site with the CPNMouse drivers.1) Download 'Driver 1.01.zip' from the 'quick download' menu on the far left. extract the zip file somewhere permenant (ex. C: Drivers CPNMouse ).2) If your mouse is a USB mouse, then follow the instructions on THIS page - http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/unknown.html - to add the line from those directions to the .inf file in the last line under the ' [CPNGroup.Mfg] ' heading.3) Follow these instructions - http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/install.html - on installing the driver that matches your system4) download this program - http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cpnmouse/cpnmouse-ordinary-binary-0.1.0.zip?download - that will allow you to run the second mouse in the windows environment.
Recap/BumpSplitting mice control so that two cursors work independently in windows is possible (see the end of previous post for a free way to set this up on a windows system). That means that splitscreen games on the pc (left for dead) could be played on one computer with two mice if we can figure out how to map controls of the bottom screen to the second mouse.Any ideas?

Steam Account Problem

Well I hate steam, so i thought i would turn to this community before i email the valve guys. I was wondering if there is anyway to delete a steam account and all the junk associated with it (Ie. Games downloads...etc). The thing is I bought Orange box when it came out and installed it with an old steam account that i don't use any more. Recently I made a new account and of course when i tried to install orange box again it said the CD KEY was in use by another account. I heard that it costs 10 bucks to have valve transfer it. I want to know if there is another way to delete the account and the stuff its linked to, without having to break into Valve's HQ and bust up some servers lol. Thanks for any help!Steam Account Problem
That's weird; why don't you just download the game again(with the new account)?Steam Account Problem

I believe it also used to curb people from thinking they can cheat on VAC secured games and move the CD-key to a different account.
Yea the cheating thing seems logicalI don't want to redownload but i think i will have to...It does cost money lol thats why i didn't just do it in the first place.Maybe i will get a job at valve and eventually work my way to the servers and bust em up.... Hmmmm..... A plan for another day. Thanks for replying guys

Looking to buy a laptop

Hey everyone. Will be going to collage this year and I'm looking to buy a laptop that i will be able to run most games smoothly (empire:total war, counterstrite etc). Graphics isn't a major concern for me, more the FPS. . Don't know what to look for. Budget of ?00-?00 (THATS ABOUT $500-$700)Any recommendations. I live in UKLooking to buy a laptop

sorry i should have mentioned, i'd like it for gaming aswell. ill re-edit my original post
If you need to chose between CPU-Power or graphics, choose graphics.A laptop is very difficult to upgrade; especially with the video card 'cause its soldered on.
For that budget, look to play older games, or some modern games at lower settings.

Are there still physx cards out there?

Not that I am intending to buy one anytime soon, but I am curious if there are still PhysX cards even out there ''in the wild'' anymore. :DAre there still physx cards out there?
Well, physx capability is now on pretty much every single current nVidia GPU, so yes.Are there still physx cards out there?
EbayOr2 Nvidia video cards. Something like a GTX 285 + 8600 or 9600 GT.
Well, physx capability is now on pretty much every single current nVidia GPU, so yes.
I think he meant dedicated physx cards, and I'm sure there are still some on ebay and stuff

Yes, because a dedicated GeForce video card for PhysX would be faster and have more RAM than a PhysX card.

A 8600 GT is $50. A 9500 GT is around $60. If I went PhysX though, I would try and get 9600 GSO at least or a single slot 9800 GT.

But if I recall correctly, the AGEIA PhysX cards were standard PCI, which would be suitable for people with no available PCI-E 16x slots.

The PhysX cards came out in both PCI and PCI-E versions. There were also both 128MB and 256MB configurations.

And even now for PhysX acceleration, the PPU's still hold up well, and compare favorably to CUDA 1.* cards (8800 and 9**0 series). You'd need a CUDA 2 card (GTX 2**) or better to really have enough headroom to where the lack of PPU won't matter.

That, and last I checked, having an ati and an nvidia video driver (even if one isn't the main adapter) rarely is a good thing. So in that respect, an ATi user would still find it preferable to have the PPU than to have to buy an nvidia card and deal with potential snafu.

Questions about putting Windows on it's on drive.

1. Is the gain in speed significant for regular use?2. Does it have to be the only program on that drive, or are there some things that can go on that disk?Questions about putting Windows on it's on drive.
What do you mean? How else can you install windows but to put it on its own drive?Questions about putting Windows on it's on drive.
Windows on one drive, other files on another.
I think you're talking about partitions
