GPU Overclock Question

When i overclock my GPU the screen goes blank Orange/Brown Does this mean the memory clock is too high or core clock? or both?Is there anyway to tell? Should i start by overclocking the memory first or the core?I have my fan speed at 100% so there shouldn't be any heat problems and i have a decent case with good airflow. How much more FPS does overclocking give you?I have a Sapphire Radeon 4890 1GBThanks.GPU Overclock Question

Make sure you put your GPU clock speeds back to their default setting. Then run Rivatuner and have it check for your max clock speeds (your computer may lock up and/or restart during this process). Rivatuner (if I remember correctly) will remember the clock speeds it reached before the lockup/restart (if it happens). Then just take those clock speeds and set your clocks just under them and then test for artifacting. It's pretty simple to use. I've used it with my 8800GTS 640MB card in the past and it worked just fine. I could overclock that card like mad, but each card is different and you might not get very good results as you were expecting.
