Upgrading my computer, is it worth it?

But only in 2 aspects. Power Supply, and the Graphics Card (This is in Newegg, and it cost about 150)Default:
Graphics: GeForce 6150 SE (Intergrated)
Power Supply: 250 WNew:
Graphics: Galaxy 95TGE8HUFEXX GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
Power Supply: Diablotek PHD650 650W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply Is it worth to make this jump? I brought extra wattages because when I tried attempting to upgrade, I needed a bigger Power Supply. How is the graphics Card? It says it has 2.0 support but it says its PCI Express x16, which I have, so am I good?

You would see an improvement, but if you're willing to shell out a little more money you could get a much better video card.Upgrading my computer, is it worth it?
I'd replace the PSU for this. Its the same price, just that you gotta do a Mail-in Rebate; but you get a better Brand and more poer(50W more).

Wait, its bad? :?

Well my folks are lending me the money and credit card. We ordered it 2 days ago, I was just wondering

if you could spend a bit more money, get a 9800GTX or GT :)
I wouldn't bother with a 1GB version of that model of video card. It's, pretty much, overkill. Also, I'd make sure that you're able to switch out the PSU on whatever PC you have, to a normal over the counter PSU. Lot's of pre-builds use oddball power plug-ins for their motherboards. You just may end up with a PSU that won't work with your current motherboard.

As for PCI-e 16x 2.0... 2.0 capable video card are backwards compatible with the original PCI-e 16x slot. You're good as long as you don't really have AGP....

The improvement you'll see between the 6150 and the 9500GT will be quite substantial actually.

Yeah, everyone was saying go with the HD Radeon, but this computer was once a Nvidia, its gonna stay like that.
Anyways, thanks guys, these opinions helped, I think I might stay with it. I just needed it to run one little game that this computer currently lags on (and alot of other applications too)

terrible advice, the 9500gt is better and the dd2 version of the 8600gt is plain terrible. He'd be better off getting a 9800gt or 4830 though not much more and way faster.

That link is to a DDR3 version.... it only states that it's better than the DDR2 version. But regardless 100+ price tag for a 8600GT is overpriced. I paid 99 dollars for a EVGA DDR3 8600GT with a 20 dollar mail in rebate, about a year and a half ago. Although, it was a 256MB version not a 512MB, but I don't think that warrants the 100+ price tag, regardless. Especially on a card that doesn't really have the horsepower to really make use of it, anyway.

You could run a far better Video Card off a 650w PSU. I'd recommend an HD 4870 (or even a 4890, which isn't much more expensive) or at LEAST an 8800/9800 GT.
its a big improvement but go at least a 9600gt

Well my folks are lending me the money and credit card. We ordered it 2 days ago, I was just wondering
If you plan on doing some decent gaming that video card isn't really a gaming card. Yes, it can allow you to run games, but on low settings at best. The 1GB is a selling gimmick. That video card cannot and will not ever be able to make use of all that memory, it's just not physically possible for that card to do it. You would see no difference in performance over a 512MB version and the 1GB version. The 9600GT using 1GB of memory sees a very minimal performance boost at higher resolutions over the 512MB card - even the GTS 250 that has 1GB only garnishes a small boost over the 512MB card when running on high resolutions or utilizing AA/AF in games like Crysis or Far Cry 2. These cards just don't have enough power to really make good use of all that memory. The card is an improvement over onboard video, but it's not tailored towards gaming very well. You should at minimum go with a 9600GT or HD 4670 (9800GT and HD 4770 would be ideal for minimum gaming rigs). At least that's my opinion on GPUs for gaming. Others may argue or disagree....Seeing as how you've already ordered your parts, this information to sway you to something better is moot, at best.
