My laptop with pretty much the exact same specs (same gpu) can handle Team Fortress 2 with most of the bells and whistles at 1600x900. So you can expect high to max graphics on most modern games except for probably crysis. The other laptop might have a better gpu but the bigger screen/higher resolution would diminish that advantage completely. What could i expect from this laptops specs?

Every PC gamer should own the Orange Box imo, one of the greatest collections of games ever released. Also Oblivion is pretty good if you like RPGs, Left 4 Dead is brilliant with friends and STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl is really good once you get into it, especially with graphical mods.

Yes. IT R GON B EPIC. There's been quite a lot of buzz and rage around the net because they are making a whole new game that isn't a Left 4 Dead (1) add-on.

Meh. The graphics don't look any better then L4D 1. Your laptop could max textures, shadres, bloom, and AA (16x) but with noticeable lag, but you can definitely play it.
anyone else help?

I have the next step up from that card in mine (4670) and from the benchmarks I've seen, mine gets about 2:1 FPS to yours. I play a lot of RTS's and I can max RA3 with locked 30 FPS, and can play COH with six in a skirmish on high settings. So you should be okay at medium. I wouldn't go over board. I play at lower resolutions (720p), so don't expect much at high resolutions.
both sound be fine in most games my laptop came with a 4670 with surprised me a bit I was able to play sf4 with 60 frames on high
I wouldn't expect much, you'd probably be playing most games at low-medium. Some (Like TF2) are less graphically demanding and you'll be playing them on high, but for the most part I'd expect medium, especially since you usually play on an HDTV.
