Core 2 Quad price drop any time soon?

I was just wondering that since now the new LGA 1156 processors are out if there will be a price drop on the Q9550 or the Q9650. At its current price point of $319 the Q9650 seems over priced compared the the i7 860 at $299, its cheaper and out performs the Q9650.I just want to upgrade for the fun of it, but am not ready to ditch my mobo and ram just yet.Core 2 Quad price drop any time soon?
I'm in the same boat, I need an upgrade to a Quad for rendering but they seem more expensive than the i7's. All the q9550s I've seen have been on low stock in most online stores so I'm guessing there won't be a price drop as they won't be manufacturing any more.Core 2 Quad price drop any time soon?

probably not unless they want to clear them out. give it a few months and the price may come down or it may go the way of the 939 cpus when am2 came out. stop producing them but never lower the price and then the price sky rockets when people try to do the final upgrade to their system and their is low supply of chips.
Either go for the lower I-7s (far better than the Core 2 Quads, and the 920 is in the $200 range) or get a Phenom II. I run the 940, and it's fantastic for the price (around $140).

I'm pretty sure he wants to upgrade from his dual core but without changing the mobo as well ;)

lol, that's true.
lol yeah the motherboard is fairly new so i didnt want to replace it, just wanted an upgrade from my core 2 duo.
yes it will especally with the release of teh i5's
Well the Q9550 is already around $200.
