I really see little reason to upgrade over a GTX 280 at this point and time. Your best bet is to wait until some DX11 games actually start coming out and upgrade to the newer cards.Help Me Choose a Graphic Card!?

Well to be honest with you, ive been having some problems with my graphic card, and i need to change it to something better and long term if you know what i mean.
Do you have a crossfire motherboard? if so you should run two 4890's. If you have an SLI motherboard you should run two 260 GTX's (equal to the 295 GTX also slightly cheaper). You can only do this though with a very high quality power supply.

i have an 850 Watts Power Supply and i have Striker II Extreme as my motherboard! also i dislike ATI, id rather stick with Nividia.
I would only recommend upgrading that card if and only if there is a game that you play that you cant max or have trouble running but i very much doubt that is the case. If the card is malfunctioning then thats another thing...all of those cards are very nice if you can afford the GTX295 then get it. Or wait for ATI 5000 or NVIDIAS 300 series gpusAnd there is nothing wrong going with ATI trust me.

Don't be foolish. Wait for the 5870/5870x2 to come out next month and get one of those, the 5870 will be better than the GTX 285 by a decent amount and the 5870x2 will probably dominate the GTX 295.

Again, wait for next month's cards, buying a card now would be stupid.
I would recommend waiting and getting ATi's new 5870 because it will blow the 295 GTX right out of the water. However, if you still wish to stick with Nvidia then go with two 260 GTX's in SLI (but you will need at least four 6-pin PCI express power connectors). Good luck
