logitech G7 terrible warranty and customer support

well yep, after using my logitech G7 for 1-1.5 years, the battery started dying, holding a charge for only 1 hour or so before i had to change it.. so i call up logitech customer support, and apparently its off warranty because the warranty starts at the manufacture date, so if they manufacture it, and put it on store shelves, and it takes 2-3 years to sell, you pretty much have no warranty, so if you get a mouse that has a degraded lithium ion battery (which decays to useless after 3 even with no use) from the shelf, you cant get a replacement, your just screwed, so i called sales after that, and they said they got none in stock, so basically i got 1-1.5 years use out of a 100$ mouse, and now i gotta throw it awayjust a warning, do not choose logitech, youve been warned.logitech G7 terrible warranty and customer support

My experience with them was top notch. Asked for RMA, and they simply sent me a new G5 (didn't even have to send back my old one). It took only a day from the moment I requested RMA to them shipping it!

I will put this into consideration the next time I need to buy something for my computer
i would never shell out 100$ on a gaming mouse

just go to the logitech website and you can buy extra batteries for the G7. They cost about 5 bucks a piece plus shipping. I have a G7 and it works flawlessly, but it cuts out sometimes im guessing that is because i have a bout 4 wirless devices pluged into my pc.
Damn i just checked the site and they appear to be out of batteries for the G7. i was going to get a couple for when mine eventually die. I guess they are trying to push newer mice on us, now that i think about it i better call support and complain about battery life before my warranty expires.

The G9 comes with 2 different grips, well one of them stated to peel, I contacted Logitech, they asked for a copy of my invoice, and I emailed them one. They sent me a entire new G9 mouse un-opened in the box. I took the grip out, and placed the box under my desk, now I have a back-up.



You said you called them? Try the email support, that is how I contacted them.

According to who I talked to, unless they handle the G9 and G7 different, it is from purchase date, not production date. Try contacting a different person, the person you talked to first might have been mistaken or just an idiot??**EDIT**Yeah you were dealing with a moron. ??? Did you go to the link? Logitechs own website says that. How is what they have printed in black and white wrong.



Why don't you try contacting them by email like I suggested? How can you be sure it will not make a difference. According to their own words it is covered under warranty.



What number did you call, I will call them and I will either make them change what it says on the website or get them to admit they were wrong. They cannot legally post that on their website, and yet have a totally different warranty procedure.

If they don't help go to newegg(If you bought it from them)... even when you aren't in warranty they might make a special case for you. They make lots of special cases for me... probably because I have spent 22,000 dollars in the past 4-5 years :P
I have a G9. I got it for $40. Why the hell would you pay $100 for a more inferior mouse???

They didn't even ask when I bought it, or ask for a receipt or any proof of purchase. I'm guessing you just pissed off the customer support guy somehow, and so he actually paid attention to Logitech's warranty.[QUOTE=''Killfox'']I have a G9. I got it for $40.
