PC Build Help - Mobo/Ram/CPU

Hey, I don't have a price preference. All I'm looking for is to get a setup similar to the following:

Intel 915g-ICH6 Mobo
Intel pentium 4
2 GM memory.

I already have a hard drive, 3870 video card, power supply, dvd drive, case and monitor. The parts I need are rather old so I'm guessing I'd have to move to dual core so I'm not sure what to do. It will be used for moderate gamingPC Build Help - Mobo/Ram/CPU
Core i5 was recently released, if you know how to build, you could go with that. core i5 is on the 1156 socket and you will need dual channel DDR3. PC Build Help - Mobo/Ram/CPU

Ah, I don't really want to spend too much money though. I was just saying price preference wasn't a factor cause I was looking to get parts similar to the parts I listed.
You don't want to have something similar to a P4 anymore...
how bout something like thishttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103687or the intel counter would be e5300 or e5400

I know, that's why I said I probably have to move to dual so I didn't know what to do.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/default.aspx?p=96%26p2=88check that thing out and compare.. not everything is on it but it's good for a general idea.Phenom 2's are great but they'll be a little more expensive. And if you're going to go that high, I would consider the i5 now too.. prices for both might drop again soon.Edit: Phenom 2 x2 550 - will get the job done for $40 morehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680

sadly there is no phenom 9600 there.....i was hoping some can tell me if i should get a phenom 9600 or Athlon II x2 245....:(
Regardless of what you're using it for I would stay away from 1st gen. phenoms if possible. I haven't heard much good about them. My first quad was a 9950BE and I guess I got off lucky because that one, and the 9850 were the only ones that could get any decent OC. But now I would get something newer.Between those two though, I would get the dual core. Athlon2 X2

Could you recommend me a mobo for both intel and amd? I'm debating between the e5300 and AMD Athlon II X2 245/250. All I know is I won't be crossfiring my 3870 video card.

I'm looking to spend under $200 between the mobo/cpu/memory. Basically the cpu is going to be about $80 and memory $50. So I could probably spend a good $100 on a board if you think it will make a difference.

haha, looks like we're in the same boat. If I go with intel I'm thinking of this, gigabyte g31m-es2l. I just don't know what to go with for amd.
