What's your budget?
i5's a flop. Get either an i7 or an AM3 based computer.
Erhm, no it isn't, not at all. It's doing very well in the benchmarks and it's only $200, how is it a flop after only a few days of being out and it doing very well in benchmarks?

What? Hell, the i5 beats the i7 in most games and is cheaper. Tell me, how is that a flop?

that video card is the only thing holding you back.
that video card is the only thing holding you back.
Yup.
For the same price of a 9800GT,you could have gotten a 4850,wich is a bit more powerfull.
Hi Well some people that are building systems right noware putting in weaker, cheaper cards and are waiting tosee how the new DX 11 cards are going to turn out.

But its all good, and it would've been nice if you gave me your opinion on the build also :D

@ MonsieurX
how good is the 4850 compared to 9800gt, performance wise? coz i see a PowerColor 4850HD 1GB for the same price as 9800GT 512MB
@ smc91352
budget is around 1000-1200 but i also have to factor in a hdd and a monitor

The 4850 is significantly better than the 9800gt.
The build is fine i woiuld only chage the GPU to a HD4850 or HD4870 or if you like Nvidia a GTX260 depending on your budget. Or wait til next month or so when ATI releases the HD5870 if you have the money. There have been several people or might be the same one posting that the i5 is a flop when all the benchmarks and tests and whatnot show otherwise...Must be AMD fanboys
i guess they just have some kind of hope that someone will prove i5 is a flop
and yea i think i'm gon go wit 4850 since its same price as 9800gt, thanks for the reply
Here's a post with links to a ton of reviews, look them over and decide for yourself.
If I was going 1156, I would get the i7 860. The socket's best cpu is the 870(in terms of features and speed, not $/performance) and will probably remain that way for the majority of it's life time, getting an i7 860 pretty much guaranties you won't have to upgrade your cpu until a socket change. The i5 doesn't offer HT. Granted you probably won't need HT for a long time to come, still once games start becoming multi-threaded then having a i7 will pay dividends.
@ Luminouslight
yea most of the reviews say i5 is good
