http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=29384
Thanks dude. Is this the best one? I actually just looked up a few reviews for ones under 35, and i saw a wireless one, but that one got some bad feedback. is this better than the saitek wireless one?
''good'' and ''under $20'' do not mix well, dont forget ''you get what you pay for'' is generally true.Any one you go with should be fine for a while atleast, how well you treat it will determine how long you get to use it before it craps out.
sry i have no idea, i just posted one that looked good to get this thread started :P , i have one that came with my xfx 6 series nvidia card a long time ago, logitech is a really good company when it comes to accessories like webcams, keyboards, mice, speakers. sometimes i use my ps3 controller on my pc with the usb wire connected (with some software i think) or my 3rd party wired logitec ps3 controller. my one friend uses his xbox 360 wired controller from gamespot sometimes also. you should try newegg, bestbuy, gamestop not too sure i guess, i dont like using a controller on my pc games for some reason

For $39 you can get the 360 controller to use on PC. Why would you spend 20 bucks on junk?
u have never used one before? O_o , well i dont prefer it i guess, i find the mouse more precise and easier to use since a monitor is smaller and close up and joy sticks can be sensitive and also some games have a load of commands so u might have to go back and forth on the key board for some things
Are you new to PC gaming? If you're coming from consoles realize that the vast majority of PC games are not meant to be played with a gamepad. There are some console to PC ports like SF4 that you might want a gamepad, but otherwise gamepads for PCs are a waste of money.

i have this one and it works great don't bother installing the software on the cd though makes you unable to calibrate it so useless. It got a similar layout to ps2 controller so its familiar and works in the games i've tried it on. But if you have the money i would defiantly go for a 360 gamepad.
It's worth getting the 360 controller just so you have something that will work with every new game. non 360 controllers require lots of annoying config in many games.
Get an xbox 360 controller on dealextreme.com. It might take a while to ship but you'll save a bundle.
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=41781%26promoid=1026
Yeah probably a good idea. I have a 360 controller, just no sync kit for it, and those are a fortune.

Too bad that X360 gamepads require a lot of annoying configuration in older games too, just because of how neutered the DirectInput functionality is and how many old games tend to have unchangeable axis or button bindings.

Then again, I always, ALWAYS look over the controls and configure them to my taste, because I'm rarely fond of the default bindings. (That goes for strict KB+M too, because I use ESDF instead of WASD.)

man that must be a pain in the ass having to do that for every game you blame ID and quake for popularizing wasd :P

Tell me about it. About the only game I don't have to rebind heavily is Tribes 2, because it's ESDF by default.

The worst offender is Armed Assault (II), mostly because of the ludicrous amount of key binds...okay, I take that back-any game that doesn't let me rebind the keys AT ALL and is hard-bound to WASD for movement is the worst offender.

At least I know that I'll have a control scheme I'll be comfortable with when all is said and done.
Becuase alot of games are ports the xbox 360 control is suprizingly good. Sometimes I want to lean back and play. For a FPS though, Meyboard and mouse is the ONLY way to play.
I got a good Playstation-style controller from Amazon.com for $10 called Logitech Precision.
