Hard drive advice

I'm looking to buy an external 1 tb HDD. I was thinking of getting the WD my book essential, but I read a couple of customer reviews and almost all of them said that it has a high failure rate. any one with knowledge tell me if true? and what would you recommend?Hard drive advice
Not sure what others would recommend, but I'd advise picking up an inexpensive, reliable 3.5'' hard drive and a decent enclosure.

Right not a Western Digital Green is probably your best bet for an external drive, as it uses less power than most and generates relatively little heat. Pair that with a nice fanless aluminum enclosure and you should be under $100. The only difference between than and a retail external drive is that you'll have to format it yourself, but that's extremely easy to do.Hard drive advice
This looks good.
