I know there is a huge problem editing Divx videos, but there has to be a way!
I have a movie file that is in .avi format with Divx codec. I can play it perfectly, but when I import it to Adobe Premiere, the sound gets all messed up. Video works fine, but sound is messed up.
The funny thing is that when I imported that same file to Premiere while I had no additional codecs installed, then I only had audio (I couldn't play the video due to lack of codecs) and it was perfect. But as soon as I installed codecs, I got video, but audio went bad.
Any way to edit Divx video without exporting it to different format (it's ~700MB in size and it takes ages to export).
Thanks for help! How to edit Divx encoded video file?
The only thing I do to .avi videos is watch 'em or dvd authorising movies. I use Sony Vegas but it takes forever if your processor is bad which I'm assuming it is 'cause you say its slow to extract.Check on CNET Forums. How to edit Divx encoded video file?
What works for me a lot of times is to use virtual dub with a divx/avi plugin to rip the audio out as an mp3 file, then put it in the Adobe Premiere project below the original video file and muting the original audio,
What codecs did you install OP? And just convert it with handbrake to mp4 h264...

That's actually a good idea. Would you mind explaining this process in more detail?
