The only real downfall is the 4ms responce time; but it will Most definately br alright for gaming. Also, I just wanna say that monitors don't have to be small. Check this LG out.Is an HDTV good to be a Monitor?

cool monitor, but is there a full HD monitor with 32 inch and good values? because i watch lots of movies on my pc... and i want something bigger for my games and PC. So that's why im asking if the HDTV is good for me as a monitor?
Hi I bet that TV would work pretty well as a monitor. The thing is with that size screen you should be about8 feet away from the screen when you use it. That isnot a screen you want sitting on your computer table.
TV's should have better colour accuracy and viewing angles than the majority or monitors as they use IPS panels instead of the standard TN panels. The reaction time is slightly less but it's not really an issue. The big differance is TVs tend to be bigger and have a lower pixel density so they're not as good if you're close up to the monitor.
Oh and BTW you can get a 37'' 120hz Panasonic for $100 less

so i should stay on monitors?
My PC is hooked up to my 40'' Samsung. It has a native 1920x1080 resolution. I think it's fine but
yeah, you need to sit pretty far away from it.

It depends on the specific model but the average LCD TV is much better than the average monitor. They actually use the same technology, the only difference between a TV and monitor is the tuner and backlight power. You've got to look at the panel type and specs to see which is the best.
Though the best monitors are better than the best TVs. If you've got a lot of money to spend get a 30'' IPS monitor they offer a 4k resolution (4x 1080p) and a great image cause they're based on the same tech that LCD TVs are.

That's a gtg time which isn't a real response time, also low response times means it's a TN panel which offer lower quality images.
I have a 32 inch that I use for my computer. Its looks great to me, but like others said you dont want to use a screen that big on a conventional computer desk. You should be about 5 feet away to have a comfortable viewing experience. A tv like that will be much better to use for movies. So if you want something to watch tv and movies on as well as game and go on the computer than that thing should be great.I, however am going to resort back to the traditional monitor on a desk set up. I plan to buy a 25 inch monitor and a desk. How my set up is now is I use a small fold up desk for my keyboard and mouse and then have my tv on a tv stand. I am getting tired of this set up... I dont like using a wireless keyboard and mouse. Also I am looking for something with a higher resolution such as 1920x1200.I was actually thinking about getting a 52 inch 1080p and using that for movies and computer, but again computers are not really made to be computing 8-10 feet away from the screen. Its just much easier to use a conventional computer desk. I am sure though you will be happy with that 32
Well right now the monitor i have is this one http://www.amazon.com/W2408H-24-inch-Widescreen-LCD-Monitor/dp/B0013AHADQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8%26s=electronics%26qid=1252762854%26sr=8-2 < same product name but i have the newer version that comes with the camera? is it good? or is there better? and bigger?
I just found this, but its too expensive for me.... http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-3008WFP-30-inch-Widescreen/dp/B001JI92KQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8%26s=office-products%26qid=1252763131%26sr=8-1 .

That's a TN panel, nothing special. The better panels tend to be sold as professional models and look like they're strangely overpriced. If you want the best then i think i'ld go with the NEC LCD3090WQXi-BK, it's a 30'' S-IPS professional monitor, the response time is 12ms which ain't amazing but it's enough for pretty much everyone (unless you're a world class Q3 or Starcraft player you should ignore response time). Though ofcourse monitors like this cost a hell of a lot so you're best off giving us a budget first if you want some recommendations.
I dont know if its better per say but if you like to play games on big screens like I do then its worth it. I really do not see any drop in quality from using my dlp hdtv 50' compared to my 25' lcd monitor. The only problem is I only sit about 3-4 feet away from it. While using windows I run at 1280x1024 but when playing games I use 1920x1080
I have used a hdtv for a monitor, it's stupid. Mainly because text is so hard to read, I prefer monitors always over tvs.
Monitors>>>TV's IMO, some may prefer sitting 5 feet away from their TV to play PC games but I prefer sitting up close with a good 22'' or 24'' monitor. Used my TV for a bit and went back to my monitor.
hmm i dont know what to do lol...

I'ld stick with the monitor you've got, it's perfectly fine. Invest the money else where.
