Hi all and thanks for reading
Im thinking of upgrading my video card(PCI-E) Im currently planning on buying a low budget card like the 8600GT.My processor, however is a Dual Core 2 GHZ Intel E1400.Yes I know its crappy but Im planning on overclocking it soon. Can the 8600GT run fine tih this processor or not? Thanks in advance :)Processor + Video card question
It has nothing to do with CPU, just make sure the motherboard accepts it.Processor + Video card question
And make sure that your PSU can supply the power. A 8600 is not really that great. Buy a used 8800GT (or better) if you can.
Well I checked my PSU and it said 380W,as far as I know the 8600GT runs at 300W so I should be able to run it...I think...

The 8600 requires a good 300W PSU or a not so good 400W PSU - that includes a typical RAM, CPU and disk setup. The card itself probably does not pass 150W.
You would need a better PSU - nothing less than 500W just to be safe - and these days you can get a 650W at fairly reasonable prices. Good luck!
If you're looking at a card at around that price range get a 9500GT or a 9600GT.

Get the 4670 instead. It's a much better card
Thanks all :)

this video card is actually pretty good and you wont need to get a new power supply with it.
