Need expert Computer Builder and Gamer Help

In BF2, specifically its mod Forgotten Hope 2, I have some FPS problems. My main PC components are 2GB of RAM, 8800GTX, and a Intel 6600 OCed to 3GHZ. I get graphical lag in some areas of the game, but I think I have eliminated ''graphics'' as the cause for this lag. When messing around on a map just in single player I will get between 80 and 100 FPS. But in a 64 player game I will get onle 20-30FPS in certain areas of certain maps. Even though only a few players will be present on screen at one time. Like I will get 100 FPS looking in the same direction of a map in single player, then go online to 64 player server, look at the same exact spot, and get 30FPS. This makes me think that my graphics card is not really the problem. Also turning AA down from 4x to 0x makes no difference.
Finally, when alt-tabbing out of the game I notice that my 2GB of ram is filled. I was thinking to corrent these issues I am having buying more RAM? Or would a new CPU be better? Because I believe that having a new graphics card will make very little difference. Please and thanks you for the helpNeed expert Computer Builder and Gamer Help
You're right, RAM would be your issue. Get another 2 GB stick of good RAM and you should be fine. BTW What exactly is your current RAM? I mean Make, Frequency, number of sticks and division in sticks(1 x 2GB or 2 x 1GB or 4 x 512 MB), you can use CPU-Z to find all this out(See under the tab ''SPD''). By 6600 I assume you mean Q6600? Even if its E6600 its more than enough for BF2, I can max BF2142 with E4500. And 8800GTX is more than sufficient for BF2.Need expert Computer Builder and Gamer Help
Its an E6600, and here is my RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146677

What would be the best way to get more RAM? I know I can install it since I built this computer but I dont know if I need to get the same kind of RAM or about the dual channel or what? Thanks for the help.
I suspect the RAM is the issue as graphical settings changes dosn't effect it (not GPU) and it only happens when you've got no AI (not CPU) but single player only supports 16 players whilst big multiplayer games are slowing you down.

Just chuck in another 2gb of similar RAM (same latency and speed)
