Im completely lost.. lol..
Its not ultra urgent as I own both games on my Xbox but I would like the PC version due to Mods,Patches etc.. if anyone can decipher these requirements please do so :) thanks.Alright.. total computer noob here.. need some advice for requirements
It'll run great.Alright.. total computer noob here.. need some advice for requirements
according to these required specs... u could practically use a crapy school computer to run your game xD , the first paragraph says the minimum requirements and the next says the recommended reuirements for better gameplay and the 3rd says what you have. you dont need to buy or upgrade anything just get the game and go play it on max setting lol
so I should have no trouble getting either game to run? great! now.. to find said games.. not so easy to find em in NZ :P not many people want to part with them and stores dont sell them so good.
They are on STEAM.
Steams useless for new zealand.. our internet is utter garbage.. we pay $80 a month for a 3GB limit so steam is pretty much out of reach.
I take it you guys haven't played Kotor, or didn't play it on PC? The game was extremely intensive for its time. I had issues getting it to run smoothly on a Radeon 9700 Pro back in the day, which despite being old, mops the floor with a Radeon xpress 200. He's also using a Celeron, which is just awful. His video card is going to be a problem, and the game will probably run like crap. I really doubt it will be playable. X800 or Geforce 6800 is really the bare minimum for this game.
aite nvm then i wont get it if it wont work.

you must have a crappy connection. $80 for 3gb who you with? I get 20gb 5mb cable for that. only takes a few hours to download most games.
yeah but NZ internet sucks. Have to be in a City to get Broadband anyone outside of the main centers is stuck with crappy T-sticks or dial up

I have Road Runner Turbo and am supposed to get upto 20Mbps, but the most I ever get is like 15Mbps.
The CPU isn't a problem (a Celeron D 3.2 ghz is still a lot better than a 1.6 ghz P4) but KOTOR had lots of technical issues however when it was released and only a limited number of video chipsets were supported. It also uses an OpenGL engine and ATI cards generally perform poorly in OpenGL. KOTOR ran without issues in 1280*1024 on my old PC with a GF3 but from the threads I've seen about the xpress 200, it'll do poorly.
I played it with a Pentium III 1GHz and an X1300pro. Initially it had problems with ATI cards but if you patch it and run the latest Catalyst they are all resolved. I don't know where an Xpress 200 is compared to an X1300pro, but my X1300pro was severely bottlenecked by my Pentium III and I was able to max out the game and apply AA.
